Phuket Golf Courses |
Phuket is a great destination for a golf holiday, with six international standard golf courses set amidst idyllic surroundings. The island is attracting an increasing number of golfers due to its year-round mild climate, beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Green fees are generally higher than the rest of Thailand, but the pleasure of playing these courses is usually well worth the expense. Bear in mind too, that fees are still very low in
comparison to other countries. |

The Red Mountain has fast become labeled one of Asia's top courses since it opened in 2007. Twisting its way through the rugged landscape of an old tin mine, this course offers an exciting variety of play to match the stunning variety of nature.
There are long par 4's stretching up to 470 yards for the long hitters, drivable par 4's with the chance of a birdie and the signature 9th hole is a dramatic par 3 with a 50m drop from tee to green. Each hole presents a different challenge with a variety of options, rewarding those with a tactical approach to their game and the measured skill to see it safely to the green. An exciting variety of green play also presents itself and with the newest, shade-tolerant Bermuda Hybrid grasses, putting surfaces remain fast and true year round.

This is a popular choice with both residents and visitors due to its charming course and central location, conveniently located a short drive from Phuket Town and Patong Beach. This 18 hole, par 72 course offers a relaxing and refreshing 6,555 yard round which offers opportunities for beginners, intermediates and professionals alike to test their skill.
The front nine holes meander alongside the signature feature of this course, the Crystal Lake, before taking you up into the forested hills for the back nine. With literally thousands of palm trees lining the fairways and a cool breeze washing over you from the Crystal Lake, the atmosphere is tranquil and serene, despite the numerous hazards and challenging greens. Fairway landing areas are fairly generous but the tightly routed layout requires you to keep firm control of your game with wayward shots readily punished by strategically placed bunkers.

Established in 1989, Phuket Country Club was the first golf course on Phuket and the first in Southern Thailand of international standard and has hosted many national tournaments.
The club's 'Old Course', an 18 hole, par 72 course, is a firm favorite for the high handicappers, offering a challenging but rewarding game and some of the best golf they have ever played. Despite this, the course still manages to offer a comfortable challenge for the more experienced player when teeing off from the Championship tees over a tough but fun 6,484 yards.
The 10th hole offers a particularly exciting challenge, being a par 5 which angles it's way round a large lake with the chance of a hole in one for those with the skill and accuracy to carry true over the 240 yards of water. Routing it's way through three scenic landscapes with 6 holes over undulating fairways, 6 holes on the level and 6 holes through shady forest, the layout of the course is as natural and relaxed as the atmosphere and staff.

Laguna Phuket Golf Club has won a string of awards for its resort facilities, it's club house and it's golf course. In response to the high acclaim it has received, it is now under a major renovation of its course and facilities to repair wear and tear and bring their course up to par with the best of Phuket. Work on the new layout will begin 1st July 2013 and play will be disrupted from that date onwards until completion in January 2015.
During the 18 months of renovation, players will have access to 9 holes, playing the 9 holes twice for an 18 hole round. From the 1st July, the front 9 holes will be accessible to players; once work is completed on the back 9, players will be able to play the newly renovated back 9 holes while work takes place on the front 9. There will also be some disruption to practice facilities during this time and tee times will naturally be affected also; 18 hole or 9 hole rounds will be available only from 6:30AM - 8:30AM and from 10:50AM - 12:50PM; 9 hole round will be available from 3:10PM onwards. All bookings will be grouped together up to 4 people to maximize the 9 holes during this time.

Nestled amongst rubber plantations and coastal mangrove forests in the north of the island, just 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport. Measuring a challenging 6,806 yards from the back tees or a more accommodating 6,308 from the front, this 18 hole, par 72 course is a popular choice with the occasional player and high handicappers alike.
Mission Hills is the only course in Phuket on the sea front and such, it's layout offers stunning vistas of the Andaman Sea from several holes. The trade-off for this proximity to the sea is soil with a higher salt content, making it harder to maintain their grass. As a result, course conditions can be in less than top condition. However, it still offers a relaxing round for those who are willing to sacrifice a little condition to enjoy the sea views and beat the stress of the crowds.

Blue Canyon Country Club has been rated as one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Asia, with two stunning, award-winning championship courses on its 700+ acres of succulent valley seamlessly winding its way through rubber plantations and tin mines.
The Canyon Course has long since made a name for itself, playing host to some memorable international tournaments, including the Honda Invitational in 1996 and the Johnie Walker Classics Tournament, twice; first in 1994 when Greg Norman reclaimed the rank of world number one, setting the Canyon Course record as he did so, then again in 1998 which witnessed Tiger Woods staging one of the most astounding comebacks of the game to see Ernie Els defeated in a playoff for the final hole. ... |

Lakes Course is another award winning masterpiece by renowned architect, Yoshikazu Kato. With his trademark design philosophy of harnessing the natural landscapes and habitats, Mr. Kato has again excelled in creating a course of authentic natural beauty and challenging golf.
A it's name suggests, water features heavily on the Lakes Course, with no less that 17 of its 18 holes incorporating the striking semi-natural water features carved into the landscape from the flooded canyons of Phuket's tin mining past. This course offers a very different game to its sister Canyon Course but is every bit as challenging and rewarding.
